3 Design Options for a Stylish yet Functional Bathroom

A bathroom remodel can involve simple changes such as switching out fixtures and painting the walls, or it can be as elaborate as completely gutting out the area and starting over. However simple or complex your home improvement project will be, the professionals at MasterWorks Painters are up for the task. Consider the following three design options for a stylish yet functional bathroom.

1. Fixtures

If you’re looking to completely change the look of your bathroom, think about what you want as far as functionality is concerned. Do you want a bathtub/shower combination or a shower only? Would it be nice to have a double sink if space is available?

If you’re looking to simply update an aging design, you may only need to replace or repair smaller fixtures. Changing drawer knobs and handles, updating the mirror over the sink, or sanding and painting the cabinets can make an enormous difference in the look of your bathroom.

2. Storage

When remodeling your bathroom, adding extra storage is possible whether it’s large and open or small and oddly-shaped. Be creative in how you add extra space to your bathroom. Think slim, narrow cabinets or vertical shelving.

You will also need to consider how much of your bathroom items actually need to be stored in this space. If you have a linen closet available, you may only need to add a small cabinet on the wall over the toilet or a larger vanity with extra drawers.

3. Lighting

Lighting can often be overlooked in a bathroom renovation. Often, it’s the bathroom where we go to relax and unwind at the end of a hard work day. If you want to add a relaxing atmosphere to your powder room, consider a dimmer switch for your overhead light as well as to the lights around the mirror.
